The Forbidden Kingdom is one of those movies that has likeable good guys and bad guys that you like to hate. Jackie Chan and Jet Li make a great collaberation. And though the rest of the cast is relatively unknown, they put on a good performance. The movie starts out with a Boston teen named Jason that finds a mysterious staff that transports him to ancient China. Agreeing to return the staff to the Monkey King ,who was trapped in stone, Jason must fight his way past the evil emperor's army, as well as journey across the vast landscape. The movie contains plenty of exciting action scenes that don't feel too dragged out. The ending was a little longer then it could have been, but The Forbidden Kingdom = Martial Arts Fun.

Jackie Chan and Jet Li in the same movie for the first time is interesting in itself. The fantasy fighting is often good, although the evil immortal hurling bad "chi" at his opponents did seem like something from X-men. The widely different characters and references to a range of forms of kung fu gave variety, with a good bit of humor thrown in at the staff seeker's (really, staff bearer's) expense. The evil but beautiful witch and the very pretty love interest, Sparrow, will catch the eyes and attention of the male audience.

While this is an awesome opportunity to see the rare occurrence of Jackie Chan and Jet Lee together in the first movie ever, the plot and content of the movie is rather childlike, with a tinge of Karate Kid on super roids. This is a movie that is great to take your kid to, and the fight scenes will not disappoint you.

A must see for all Jackie Chan fans. Jet Li also was a big player in the movie. The martial arts and special effects were extrodinary. Anyone that likes traditional martial arts should put this on their "must see" list! Lou in Reno, NV

It's about time Hollywood gave us an authentic Martial Arts film. As much as I love Jackie Chan and Jet Li, I've never been 100% satisfied with their American flicks. I prefer New Police Story, Fearless, The Legend Of Drunken Master, The Warlords and other back home productions over hit and miss efforts like Shanghai Noon/Knights, Cradle To The Grave and The Rush Hour Series. I went to see The Forbidden Kingdom out of respect for two of my favorite stars and was pleasantly surprised. Not only do we get Jet and Jackie together but it's also a tribute with nods to countless Hong Kong classics. If you grew up on Shaw Bros. and Golden Harvest, this is the movie for you. Michael Angarano didn't even irritate me that much thanks to several outstanding Woo Ping choreographed fight scenes. The duel between the co-stars is beyond awesome and makes up for the brief skirmish in last year's War with Jet and Jason Statham. GUYS!!! Do yourselves a favor and see this movie ASAP. It truly rocks.
